  • Face Value of a digit is the actual value of the digit itself, regardless of its position in the number.

Example:

In 583(Five Hundred Eighty Three):

  • Face value of 5 = 5
  • Face value of 8 = 8
  • Face value of 3 = 3

Face value never changes.
